Brazil (1985) [Movie]
This is one of my favourite movies from the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Brazil stars Jonathan Pryce and Robert De Niro, and is the story of a bureaucrat in a "1984-esque" society, living in fear of constant government surveillance and stringent rules. Keep in mind its more than "out-there" but very thought provoking.
